A NOTE FROM GWEN
It is with great sadness that I write of my husband John’s passing on September 20, 2019, at the age of 87.
John had an extraordinary 30 year career as an artist (following a successful 30 year career on Wall Street), and until the end what most engaged him was art, whether continuing to paint, reading his monthly copies of Art News and Art in America, or visiting with artist friends, where he always asked them “what are you working on?”
His work continues to be shown at both Windham Fine Arts in Windham, NY, and Main Street Arts in Victor, NY (near Rochester). Additionally, I am happy to welcome you to my home which houses John’s former studio, and where I still have a large body of his work that I am selling. In all cases, I have dramatically slashed the prices, because John always felt very strongly that he wanted his work to be seen and enjoyed; and I am donating all proceeds to various philanthropies that were important to John, including one at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester where John created an endowment to support emerging artists.
