Windham Fine Arts
Happy spring for those on the East Coast!
I have been out of touch but I have been very much in the studio, since my last two successful shows in April 2017 in Western New York – the Memorial Art Gallery museum in Rochester, NY and Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs NY
And now you can see my work in 3 different galleries around the Tri-state region, starting with Main Street Arts where the dealer Bradley Butler came down to the studio for a lovely weekend and took back about 15 small works. You can see them laid out in the studio; they run the gamut from portals, to dimensional, to mixed media, so feel free to reach out to Bradley and for the those of you in the area, drive down one beautiful Spring day and eat lunch or dinner at the wonderful Warfield’s restaurant right across the street
Next came Jim Parrish from Windham Fine Arts, In Windham NY, and he selected about a dozen paintings, most of them the earlier landscapes (many of you know them well – I seem reluctant to go back to that series so there are very few left), and several incorporate wonderful mixed media of lead, copper and nails. Jim also took 2 figurative works, which is so rare for me to create and not surprisingly they incorporate a really wide and unusual array of materials, and the female bust has a long historical narrative that accompanies the “original”. That exhibit is currently installed.
Finally, thanks to our friend Marcia Lowry from Rochester who dropped off a catalog last summer, the Diana Felber Gallery in West Stockbridge MA reached out to me, and late this week Diana and her husband Stephen came down and fortunately they are very drawn to abstract work, so they took about a dozen of the color field and related paintings for an exhibit that will open this weekend, and will also show artist friends of ours, Murray Zimiles and Warner Friedman.
As often happens regrettably, we cannot be everywhere at once. Fortunately, we are able to attend this week’s opening at Diana Felber on Saturday, May 5, from 5-7 PM. Gwen and I hope to see you there, and more importantly we hope you have the opportunity to see my work around the northeast.
Best regards from us both,
